What are the Red, Yellow, and Green Buttons on my Mac

One common question I get is… The Red, Yellow, and Green buttons what do they essentially do.

The Red dot is sorta the equivalent to close on a Windows computer. The difference is that the red dot closes the window not the application. To quit the application while in the window Hold the Command key and the letter “Q”.

The Yellow dot is the equivalent to minimize. Well… thats exactly what it does! (Funny trick if you hold the Shift key while clicking minimize you will see something cool).

The Green dot is Full screen mode. If you have two applications open you can click and hold on the green dot to enable split screen mode.
